Forsaken, Sire and Liege

Family exile, independent organizations and Re-Liege.

What is a Forsaken?

A Vampire or Lycan is Forsaken while belonging to no bloodline. They remain in Noctaryn. Exile does not change their race, Sire, generation, nights, blood, essence, life status or hibernation.

Three different situations

  • Individual exile: the person and all descendants leave their bloodline, clan/pack and house. They have no family affiliation.
  • House exile: the house and its members remain intact but leave both the bloodline and clan/pack. Its members become Forsaken and keep their house.
  • Clan or pack exile: the organization remains intact with its houses and members but leaves the bloodline. All members become Forsaken and keep their clan/pack and their house, if they have one.

Who may declare someone Forsaken?

A leader may exile a member of their own house, clan/pack or bloodline. A Sire may exile a direct or indirect descendant. The Forsaken book is an authorized leader and Sire tool, not a personal book for Forsaken players. All descendants always follow the exiled person. Family exile is not a system ban.

Scions and Primordials

A Scion or Primordial can never be Forsaken. Any exile affecting one, even through a branch, house or clan/pack, is refused.

A Forsaken cannot become a Scion or Primordial while Forsaken. After joining a bloodline, this restriction ends; the usual promotion requirements still apply. Having previously been Forsaken is not a permanent disqualification.

Re-Liege: joining a family

Using the Vampire or Lycan House book, the house leader may welcome a Forsaken of the same race and all descendants. They join the leader’s bloodline, clan/pack and house. The new Liege is distinct from the Sire, who remains the person responsible for the transformation. Re-Liege changes neither the Sire nor generations. Re-Sire remains a separate process.

Scan display

Self scans and scans by other players follow the same rules. A person with no family displays FORSAKEN without empty Bloodline, Clan or House rows. An independent house displays FORSAKEN and House; an independent clan/pack displays FORSAKEN, Clan/Pack and House when applicable. The Sire remains visible. A Liege is shown when a relevant family bond exists. After rejoining a bloodline, FORSAKEN disappears and actual affiliations are displayed.

Creating an organization

Ordinary requirements are 8 active members for a house and 20 for a clan/pack, including the leader. For Forsaken only, these double to 16 for a house and 40 for a clan/pack, including the leader. Eligible direct and indirect descendants count. Clan/pack creation rights cost 5,000 L$; this fee does not apply to houses. Clan/pack creation and allocation remain arranged with The Architect.

Joining an independent house

An independent house may also welcome a Forsaken and all descendants through Re-Liege. They inherit only affiliations that the house actually has. While it belongs to no bloodline, new members remain Forsaken; clan/pack and house are shown only when present.
